Disease Information

 MeSHDisease Ontology
Disease ID:D051436DOID:784
Disease Name:Renal Insufficiency, Chronicchronic kidney disease
Category:MeSHDisease Ontology
Type:Urogenital Diseases//Pathological Conditions, Signs and Symptomsdisease of anatomical entity
Define:Conditions in which the KIDNEYS perform below the normal level for more than three months. Chronic kidney insufficiency is classified by five stages according to the decline in GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE and the degree of kidney damage (as measured by the level of PROTEINURIA). The most severe form is the end-stage renal disease (CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE). (Kidney Foundation: Kidney Disease Outcome Quality Initiative, 2002)A kidney failure that is characterized by the gradual loss of kidney function.

Reference

[1] PubMed ID:31629473
Disease Name:Renal Insufficiency, Chronic
Tissue:Kidney
Dysfunction Pattern:Down-Regulation
Validated Method:RT-PCR//Western blot//High-throughput sequencing
Description:It was verified that the expression levels of 1 tRF (tDR-007341) were significantly upregulated and 3 tRFs (tDR-007489, tDR-007439 and tDR-012842) were significantly downregulated in differentiated podocytes compared with undifferentiated podocytes among those 6 dysregulated tRFs by qRT-PCR.
Comparision:Differentiated Podocytes VS Undifferentiated Podocytes
Mechanism:The specific mechanisms on tRF are still not clear. The relationship between these differentially expressed tRFs and podocyte differentiation should be fully studied to find potential therapeutic targets for CKD in the future.
